Following the crowning of Ashley Hollis as the newest “Big Brother” champion, Julie Chen appeared on today’s episode of Radio Andy’s “Andy Cohen Live” to dish on the finale.
During her discussion with Andy, Julie gave insight into runner-up Vince Panaro’s relationship with his girlfriend of seven years, discussed “Love Island’s” impact on “Big Brother” Season 27, described the changes to “The Talk” as “tone deaf,” and more.
“Do you think actually weirdly that the 30% bump in [Big Brother] ratings this year could be attributed to people’s thirst for more after ‘Love Island’ ended?,” Andy asked Julie.
“Absolutely,” Julie said. “My son, who’s 16, said when his generation of friends are starting to talk about ‘Big Brother,’ when ‘Love Island’ wrapped up. He’s like, ‘You’re getting that audience because they miss ‘Love Island.’ They want something similar to it and ‘Big Brother’ is the next closest thing. And I do think that is why we trended upward towards the end.”
